New cars and SUVs this month include a couple of electric MPVs, luxury cars and facelifts of mass-market cars.
July 2025 will see a variety of new cars and SUVs being launched in India, catering to both the mass market and luxury ends of the Indian automotive market. These new offerings will include electric MPVs, luxury cars, and facelifts of mass-market models, too.
Expected launch: Early July
Expected Price: ₹65-70 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
While MG earlier said the Cyberster will be the first model to launch under its new MG Select premium dealerships, it would now be the M9 electric MPV instead. Order books for the M9 opened up in May, and it can be booked for a token amount of ₹51,000. The M9 gets a 90 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of around 430 km. The M9 is designed with rear seat passenger comfort in mind, as it gets luxurious captain seats in the second row which have a massaging function, an extending ottoman and can be fully reclined.
Expected launch: Mid-July
Expected Price: ₹48-52 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
BMW’s most affordable car is the 2 Series Gran Coupe, and it’s set to get a new generation in India next month. The second-gen 2 Series is a direct rival to the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, and both haven’t been as successful as both brands would have liked. Coming to the 2 Series, it remains to be seen which powertrains will be available in India. It will definitely get the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with the 220 Gran Coupe, but it remains to be seen if BMW India brings the 220d with a 2.0-litre diesel engine or even the high-performance M235 xDrive with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.
Unveil: July 15, 2025
Expected Price: ₹17-25 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
Kia India’s first mass-market electric vehicle will also be the most affordable seven-seater electric vehicle in the country. The electric Clavis will use the same platform as the recently launched Creta Electric and come with two battery pack options – a 42 kWh and a 51.4 kWh – but is likely to have better range than the Creta Electric. Design-wise, the Carens Clavis EV will have a few electric-only touches to it, but won’t look starkly different to the standard Carens Clavis.
Expected launch: Late July
Expected price: ₹6.50-11.30 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
Expected for a long time, the facelifted Renault Kiger will soon make its debut in India. The updated Kiger will, unsurprisingly, have a subtly refreshed design, probably some new features, but no changes in the powertrain department. So expect the same 1.0-litre NA petrol and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engines with the same manual and automatic options.
Expected launch: Late July
Expected price: ₹6.50-9.00 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
The Triber is probably the most unique car in the mass-market segment as it is the only sub-4 metre MPV in the country. Due to this, the Triber doesn’t have a direct rival in the country, but its top-end variants rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Rumion. Like the Kiger, the Triber too will have a slightly refreshed design, some new features, but no changes in the powertrains on offer.
