Interestingly, the video shows a camouflaged Punch.ev, despite it being revealed earlier this month.
Tata Motors recently revealed its latest electric vehicle (EV), the Punch.ev and it is all set to launch later this month. Ahead of that, Tata Motors has released a video showing how the Punch.ev performs off-the-road.
In the video, the Punch.ev can be seen tackling a rocky trail and a steep banked curve. Furthermore, the video also shows the Punch.ev on a course that tests the axle articulation capabilities of the EV and it can also be seen going through a ditch to test its water-wading abilities. As can be seen in the video, the Punch.ev seems capable enough to handle all the rough terrains thrown at it.
The video suggests that the Punch.ev could come with an all-wheel drive system, aided by a dual-motor setup. That could be a possibility since it is based on the new acti.ev (Advanced Connected Tech-Intelligent Electric Vehicle) which supports front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive and even rear-wheel drive options. However, it is unlikely that the Punch.ev will get an all-wheel drive option since the dimensions of the car are small to accommodate the drive train. Tata Motors is yet to reveal the specifications of the Punch.ev and it remains to be seen if this drivetrain will be an option.
Now you might be wondering why the Punch.ev is camouflaged in the video, despite Tata Motors revealing the micro SUV. It could only mean that this footage was shot even before Tata Motors unveiled the Punch.ev before revealing it earlier this month.
Tata Motors opened bookings for the Punch.ev for a token amount of ₹21,000. The Indian manufacturer has also revealed that the all-electric version of the micro SUV will get LED projector headlamps, a front trunk (first for a Tata EV), a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, air purifier, a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless charger and more.
