There is no clarity yet on whether VinFast will launch the Minio Green in India.
VinFast is gearing up to launch two new EVs in India — the VF6 and VF7 — and has now filed a patent for another model, the Minio Green. This MG Comet rival is a small, three-door hatchback and could become VinFast’s most affordable EV in the country. However, a patent filing doesn’t necessarily confirm an India launch.
The Minio Green sports a quirky design with tall-boy proportions and small wheels. It features round headlamps reminiscent of a MINI, while its tail lamps resemble those of the early-2000s Hyundai Santro. It is offered in six colours: Pink, Green, Red, White, Black, and Yellow.
VinFast’s smallest EV is slightly larger than the Comet. It measures 3,090 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,065 mm — 116 mm and 55 mm longer, respectively, than the Comet. At 1,659 mm, it is also taller by 19 mm, although the Comet is wider by 9 mm.
The Minio Green’s cabin is fairly basic, featuring only a virtual instrument cluster and two speakers connected to an FM audio system. Like the Comet, it has a two-spoke steering wheel and four seats.
Powering the Minio Green is a 14.7 kWh battery with a claimed range of 170 km — considerably less than the Comet’s 230 km from its 17.4 kWh battery. The VinFast produces 27 bhp and 65 Nm, with a claimed top speed of 180 kmph.
