The VF6 is one of two models that VinFast will assemble in India at its Thoothukudi plant.
VinFast has launched its first models in India, the VF6 and VF7. The VF6, priced starting at ₹16.49 lakh, is a compact electric SUV that will serve as the entry point for the brand in India. Bookings for the VF6 in India commenced on July 15, and assembly is already underway at the Thoothukudi plant. VinFast offers the VF6 in three variants – Earth (priced at ₹16.49 lakh), Wind (priced at ₹17.79 lakh) and Wind Infinify (priced at ₹18.29 lakh).
All three variants have the same 59.6 kWh battery pack, which the company says can be charged from 10 to 70 percent in 25 minutes. ARAI-certified range is 468km for the Earth variant and 463km for the Wind variants.
The VF6 Earth offers 174 peak power and 250 Nm peak torque while the VF6 Wind ups those figures to 201 bhp and 310 Nm respectively. Acceleration for the Wind variants is listed as 0-100kmph in 8.9 seconds.
Standard features across the range include automatic LED projector headlamps with auto-leveling, a reverse-linked ORVM, keyless entry, power-adjustable driver's seat, auto AC, auto-dimming IRVM, a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 6-speaker audio system, multiple drive and regen modes, and cruise control. For safety, there are seven airbags along with rain-sensing wipers, ABS, EBD, ESC, ESS, traction control, hill start assistance, 360-degree surround view, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The Wind variants also offer 8-way powered driver's seat adjustment, front ventilated seats, dual-zone AC with an ioniser and PM1.0 air filter, 8-speaker audio system, adaptive cruise control with L2 ADAS, and 18-inch machine-cut wheels.
You also get a fixed edge-to-edge panoramic glass roof with the Wind Infinity variant.
All variants of the VinFast VF6 are available in six colours – Jet Black, Desat Silver, Infinity Blanc, Crimson Red, Zenith Grey and Urban Mint. On the inside, the Earth variant has a blacked-out interior, while the Wind variants feature Mocca Brown vegan leather upholstery.
