The VinFast VF7 marks the debut of VinFast in India, along with the VF6.
VinFast has launched its first models in India, the VF6 and VF7 SUVs. The VF7 is priced starting at ₹20.89 lakh, and is described as "sporty and sophisticated" by the company. It measures over 4.5m in length. Both new models will be assembled at VinFast’s plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.
Bookings for the VF7 in India commenced on July 15, and assembly is already underway at the company's Thoothukudi plant. VinFast offers the VF7 in five variants:
The VF7 is offered with two powertrain options – single motor and dual motor. The former has a single motor on the front axle, which produces up to 201 bhp and 310 Nm, while the latter has one motor on each axle, which combined, produce 348 bhp and 500 Nm. Depending on which variant you choose, the battery pack has either a 59.6kWh (Earth) or 70.8kWh (all other variants) capacity.
The Earth variant produces 174 bhp peak power and 250 Nm peak torque. It can be charged from 10 percent to 70 percent in 24 minutes. Buyers will get a powered driver's seat, cruise control, 19-inch alloy wheels, and black vegan leather upholstery. ARAI-certified range is 438km.
The Wind variant and above, with the larger battery pack but still single motor, offer 201 bhp peak power and 310 Nm peak torque, accelerating from zero to 100kmph in 9.5 seconds. Charging from 10 to 70 percent takes 28 minutes. The 19-inch alloy wheels are painted black. Buyers will get a powered tailgate, 8-way adjustable powered driver's seat, front ventilated seats, 8-speaker audio system, adaptive cruise control with L2 ADAS including a driver monitoring camera and distraction warnings. The interiors are Mocca Brown vegan leather. Buyers can expect 532km range (ARAI certified).
With the Sky variants, there's a dual motor setup promising AWD with 348 bhp peak power and 500 Nm peak torque. It can go from zero to 100kmph in 5.8 seconds. The ARAI-certified range is 510km. All other specifications and features are the same as those of the Wind variants.
The Infinity versions feature a panoramic edge-to-edge fixed glass roof. All variants of the VinFast VF7 come in six colours – Jet Black, Desat Silver, Infinity Blanc, Crimson Red, Zenith Grey and Urban Mint.
All variants of the new premium VinFast model feature a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, a colour head-up display, dual-zone AC, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 90W USB Type-C port for charging, acoustic windshield and roof, flush door handles, heated ORVM with auto dimming and memory, and keyless entry.
