Vivo will face competition from established players like Samsung and OnePlus in the foldable smartphone space.
Vivo has announced that it will launch its first foldable smartphone, the X Fold3 Pro, on June 6 in India. With this, Vivo will enter the growing foldable segment in India and will face competition from established players like Samsung and OnePlus.
The Vivo X Fold3 Pro was originally unveiled globally in March and features a lightweight design and powerful specifications. Vivo has implemented a carbon fibre hinge that keeps the weight down to just 236g despite the large internal screen. When folded, the phone measures a mere 11.2mm in thickness (5.2 mm when unfolded). It sports an 8-inch internal folding AMOLED display and a 6.53-inch external screen, both with 120Hz refresh rates.
Under the hood is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. Its 5,700mAh battery supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The triple rear camera system is headlined by a 50MP primary sensor and backed by Zeiss optics. It will run Funtouch OS based on Android for the Indian market.
The foldable phone will be available through Flipkart, Amazon, Vivo's site and retail stores.
