The Mobster is quite the aggressive-looking, sporty scooter to launch in India and it will boast several segment-first features as well.
The VLF Mobster has been officially confirmed for launch in India. The aggressive-looking, sporty Italian scooter will be brought to India by Kolhapur-based Motohaus—the same dealer that retails Brixton Motorcycles in the country. The Mobster will be the second scooter offering from the retail outlet after the VLF Tennis 1500W e-scooter.
For starters, it will be the first and only ICE scooter in India to come equipped with a dashcam as standard from the factory, and will be able to record live on the go. Additionally, it will also come with dual-channel ABS and liquid-cooling as standard. It still is unclear whether the VLF Mobster will arrive with a 125 cc or 180 cc engine. The former produces 11.83 bhp and 11.7 Nm, while the latter is good for 17.75 bhp and 15.7 Nm.
Other key highlights of the Mobster include a standard 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity that will also support mobile screen mirroring. Additionally, it will have navigation, call/SMS alerts, and music playback.
Right from that front apron design with BMW S 1000 RR-styled headlight with DRLs down to rear apron design with exposed hardware and vents, the Mobster means business. The latter section in fact looks like it was designed for the “Transformer” franchise. All in all, the VLF Mobster does not shy away from the fact that its styling is inspired from sport bikes. As for its hardware, the Mobster equips a telescopic fork and double shock absorbers, while the 12-inch wheels are wrapped by chunky tyres.
The exact date of the launch of the VLF Mobster is still unknown, but it is slated to happen before the festive season kicks in. Will it be priced aggressively and pose a viable threat to the likes of the TVS NTorq 125, or the Yamaha Aerox 155.
