Electric motorcycle manufacturer Vmoto has unveiled its plans for new electric cafe racer models. These are in the form of design patents that were recently filed by this company. Vmoto is known for its focus on affordability, and the electric cafe racer is expected to follow in the same footsteps.
These designs blend classic cafe racer design with modern electric technology. There are 2 designs here in discussion. A clean and half-faired, catering to different aesthetic preferences.
Both models feature a sculpted "tank" section and subtle engine-like details, reminiscent of the iconic cafe racers of the 1970s. The two variants distinguish themselves aesthetically. One features a classic unfaired look with a short screen, while the other sports a bullet-style fairing and slightly lower handlebars.
The underpinnings and performance specifications are expected to mirror Vmoto’s existing TCmax. This has a 5kW electric motor offering 125cc gasoline engine equivalent power. Top speed is expected to be around 100 kmph and the range of 100 km. The range might seem low but the product is focusing on certain lifestyle applications. Urban commutes might not be an issue either.
Underpinnings include an USD fork and steel frame with aluminum subframe. Expect updated mudguards and a wire-spoked front wheel on both models for a touch of vintage flair. A single circular instrument pod and bar-mounted controls provide a clean and intuitive interface. It might miss out on ABS but hopefully does have the combi braking system.
Right now only the design patents of the motorcycles are out. There is no official announcement that's made nor a timeline for launch. While being said that, the company is expected to position these bikes competitively in the electric motorcycle market.
