Volvo India is the second luxury carmaker to opt for the Direct-to-Customer (D2C) retail business model.
Volvo Car India is ready to unleash its latest electric vehicle, the mighty Volvo C40 Recharge SUV. And guess what? They're shaking things up by selling it directly to customers. That's right, no middlemen, no hassle! According to a report in ET Auto, Volvo India is stepping into the ring as the second luxury carmaker to embrace the Direct-to-Customer (D2C) retail business model, right after Mercedes Benz India.
“We opted for a direct sales model for the XC40, and the response has been good. Now we will opt for the C40 Recharge as well. The plan is to gradually move all the models to this direction,” Jyoti Malhotra, MD, Volvo Cars India, ET Auto reported.
Under this approach, Volvo will take full ownership of the vehicle inventory, leveraging appointed franchise partners to facilitate sales. The Swedish automaker will directly invoice customers for their new cars, overseeing the entire order processing and fulfillment process.
This strategic shift marks Volvo India's commitment to a seamless customer experience, while also maintaining tighter control over the distribution chain. By implementing this new approach, Volvo aims to enhance efficiency and deliver a more streamlined car-buying journey for its discerning clientele.
