For reference, a high-end, luxury car like the Mercedes-Benz EQS can do 857 km of range on a single charge.
At the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show, Thailand-based EV manufacturer Smartech took to the stage to unveil Tooz. Revealed as part of its newly formed electric motorcycle brand Felo - the Felo Tooz is also being touted as the ‘World’s largest electric motorcycle’ for some of the astronomical figures it boasts of.
Aside from reaching a top speed of 201 kmph, the Felo Tooz boasts a massive 720 km of range claim (on a single charge). The latter advantage brings the Felo Tooz almost at par with a high-end, luxury four-wheeler like the Mercedes-Benz EQS for reference, which has an ARAI-claimed range of 857 km.
Moreover, the bike also supports Type2 charging, i.e. rapid charging, thereby 20-80% of the battery can be charged in 20 minutes, claims the company.
Living up to those long-distance crunching numbers, the Felo Tooz also looks the part. It is designed like a typical tourer with a comfortable-looking rider and pillion seats. The front fascia looks futuristic with a sleek headlight, and the panniers on the side can also double up as a cooling box, which will be an option. The low seat, and tall handlebar, give the impression of comfortable ergonomics. Moreover, the bike doesn’t get footpegs, instead it gets footboards, much like a car.
More than just being a long-running electric vehicle, the Felo Tooz also tries to push the boundaries of innovation. For starters, it is the first of its kind two-wheeler to support Vehicle-To-Load (V2L) capabilities, which means you can use the bike’s batteries to charge other devices. The exact battery capacity of the Felo Tooz is yet to be confirmed, but with this functionality, it should be quite significant.
In addition to that, the Felo Tooz will also equip a 12-inch TFT display that will double up as a navigation system and integrate a 360-degree camera display as well. There’s also tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS, and traction control available, and by the time it hits the market, it is expected to sport even more features.
Not entirely. Although the bike unveiled at the motor show was not in its production-spec. However, reports suggest that Smartech will launch its production-spec in the Thai market in the coming months.
