More than 3,00,000 scooters recalled
Yamaha India, has announced a voluntary recall of approximately 3,00,000 units of its popular 125cc scooters, the Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid. The recall, which affects scooters manufactured between January 1, 2022, and January 4, 2024, is aimed at addressing a potential issue with the brake lever function in certain units.
According to the company, the recall targets the resolution of a brake lever function issue in specific units of the Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid scooter models (January 2022 onward models). The replacement part is being offered to affected customers at no additional cost.
Owners of these Yamaha scooters bought in the aforementioned timeframe are advised to take note of this recall and are encouraged to contact their nearest authorised Yamaha service centre to avail of the free replacement service.
Since July 2012, over 5.35 million vehicles have been recalled in India, with cars and SUVs comprising 73 percent and two-wheelers making up the remaining 27 percent. This emphasises Indian OEMs' commitment to prioritising customer safety and meeting international quality standards.
