Along with its debut electric scooters in India, Yamaha today announced a pair of motorcycles designed for enthusiasts as well as everyday riders. The premium XSR155 finally brings the XSR series to India and is aimed at fans of modern retro bikes, inspired by classic bikes in terms of design, but with up-to-date features and specifications. On the other hand, the FZ-Rave joins the more mass-market FZ family with a balance of performance, efficiency and price.

Yamaha XSR155

The XSR155 has an introductory offer price of ₹1,49,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It’s meant to offer a thrilling, immersive riding experience both on open roads and in the city. It has been launched in four colours: Greyish Green Metallic, Vivid Red, Metallic Grey, and Metallic Blue. It will be available with two accessory packages: Scrambler and Cafe Racer.

The company says it is aimed at new as well as mature bikers who like the modern-retro feel and also want high performance. Classic yet modernised design elements include its round LED headlight and taillight, teardrop fuel tank, and traditional LCD display. This bike is built on Yamaha’s Deltabox frame with an aluminium swing arm, USD front forks, and linked-type monocross rear suspension.

Its 155cc liquid-cooled four-valve engine features Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) and can push 13.5kW with 14.2Nm of torque. It has 17-inch wheels plus dual-channel ABS and traction control for safety. A six-speed transmission is paired with an assist-and-slipper clutch.

It will be available in Matte Titan and Metallic Black with distinct body graphics that the company says will resonate with the tastes and preferences of young Indian buyers.

The FZ-Rave has a single-piece seat, full-LED projector headlamp, integrated position light, sculpted fuel tank, cosmetic air vents, and compact exhaust. It’s powered by a 149cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, capable of 9.1kW of power. Yamaha claims “unmatched fuel efficiency” along with linear acceleration. It has a five-speed manual gearbox, front and rear disc brakes, and single-channel ABS. Fuel tank capacity is 13 litres, and kerb weight is 136 kg.
