Ola

The design doesn’t resemble the Diamondhead, Adventure, Cruiser and Roadster motorcycle concepts Ola showcased earlier.

It was already known that Ola Electric would venture into the electric motorcycle space. The brand confirmed the same last year with the showcase of four different concept models – Diamondhead, Adventure, Cruiser, and Roadster.

Now a new design patent of another electric bike from the Bengaluru-based electric manufacturer has surfaced online. Interestingly, it doesn’t look anything like the concepts before. It reveals a production guise which further indicates that it might be the first model with which Ola will venture into this niche segment that is currently populated by the likes of Ultraviolette, Tork Motors, Revolt, etc.

As for its design, the Ola electric motorcycle looks quite unorthodox, with a very distinct sharp minimal body design. This might be the brand’s entry-level offering and the simpler hardware components like the telescopic fork and dual-shock absorbers further reinstate this.

The alloy wheel design also looks like 17-inch units, shod with tyres whose size we typically associate with 125-150 cc commuter motorcycles. The narrow tyres also help reduce rolling resistance, which in turn should make this electric motorcycle more efficient with more range.

While details about the battery size and electric motor are still unclear. However, they'll likely be housed in between a modified dual-cradle frame architecture located at the bottom, which is usually occupied by the engine and the gearbox in a conventional ICE bike. As for its range, this Ola commuter motorcycle might be good for 100 km of range, considering that the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter can already do the same.

Pricing-wise, it will likely be launched in the range of ₹1 lakh to ₹1.15 lakh (ex-showroom). In this range, it will have the likes of the Revolt RV400 and the Tork Kratos R as its competition.
