While both camouflaged test mules look like adventure tourers, there could be a big catch.

TVS Motor Company had a pleasant surprise for us bike enthusiasts at its annual bike festival, MotoSoul, this year. The Hosur-based manufacturer showcased a brand-new liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that displaces 299 cc and is tuned to produce 34 bhp and 28.5 Nm. As exciting as these numbers sound, we’re more interested in seeing the bikes that this engine will power. Going by the first purported spy shots that have surfaced, it seems that TVS' debut range of adventure bikes will benefit from this new mill.

Yes, TVS' debut ADV bike has been spotted; at least, that's what a viral social media post claims. The test mules look quite rugged with a muscular design, and the headlight cowl distinguishes itself with a taller windshield. The fairing design also looks quite voluptuous. There are indications of many cuts and creases; however, given how well-camouflaged these bikes are, we can't gauge anything for sure.

Despite its rugged appeal, TVS' upcoming adventure bike will be road-biased

But despite this sort-of rugged appeal, TVS' upcoming adventure bike feels more road-biased. This is given away by the fact that both the test mules spotted ride on what seem like 19/17-inch alloy wheels shod with road-biased tyres at both ends. Coupled with USD fork and mono shock available with the bikes as standard, a nice supple ride quality should be in the offing. Braking duties are carried out by disc brakes at both ends.

While unveiling the new engine, TVS had confirmed that it will support ride-by-wire, and thereby different ride modes. Additionally, traction control and cruise control will probably be supported too.

However, there is a catch here. If we look closely, the engine in these spy shots does not look like the RTX D4 engine, especially due to the absence of a gold-coloured casings. However, this is a test mule and not a production-spec bike, so the covers are still not official. Therefore, it still cannot be confirmed that these bikes are the upcoming adventure bikes from TVS.
