With the GST rate now cut to 18%, the upfront cost of the Eeco CNG has also come down.

Why have the prices been reduced for the Maruti Suzuki Eeco?
The government’s decision to reduce GST on small cars and vans is aimed at boosting demand in the entry-level vehicle segment. Previously, the Eeco, like other compact vehicles, was taxed at 28% GST plus cess, which significantly pushed up ex-showroom prices.
Now, with the GST 2.0, vehicles under 4 metres in length and with petrol/CNG engines below 1.2 litres including vans like the Eeco are taxed at a flat 18% GST with no cess.
Category | Old GST | Old Cess | Old Total Tax | New GST | New Total Tax | Change in Tax |
Small cars (under 4m, ≤1,200cc petrol/CNG) | 28% | 1% | 29% | 18% | 18% | 11% lower than before |
This move is designed to make mass-market vehicles more affordable for Indian buyers, especially those in the lower and middle-income brackets, while also providing relief to small businesses that rely on such vehicles for operations.
When are the new rates applicable?
The new GST structure is applicable from September 22, 2025. Any Maruti Suzuki Eeco purchased or billed after this date will reflect the revised ex-showroom pricing.
So, when you buy a Maruti Eeco post the GST reduction, you can save up to ₹67,000 on the ex-showroom price, depending on the variant you choose.
Disclaimer: The new prices mentioned in this article are tentative and based on the revised GST rates applicable from 22 September 2025. Final ex-showroom prices may vary slightly as manufacturers and dealerships update their pricing structures in line with the new taxation policy.
