  • The overall exterior remains almost the same, but those elementary changes, like a revamped grille with a honeycomb mesh pattern, improve the design. The sharp side profile alongside the rear door gives the car a new avatar.

  • There are LED DRLs integrated with projector headlamps.

  • Swift's top model, i.e. ZXi Plus, comes with large front seats offering excellent support. Higher models have a height adjustment feature for the front seats.

Hyundai Creta:

  • The new Creta undergoes a dramatic exterior appearance

  • The front receives a complete makeover with a boxy design. The rectangular grille comes with three horizontal slats. The full-width LED DRL strip makes the appeal bold.

  • Revamped headlights improve the look by ditching the previous design for a rectangular quad-beam arrangement with the reworked bumper.

  • The side profile retains the design so that you can easily identify the Creta with the familiar silver trim above the windows.

  • The size of the tyre remains unchanged, with the top-tier model having a size of 17-inch alloy wheels.

  • The rear design undergoes a change with a prominently connected taillight with thin sequential indicators.

Considering the dimensional features, the Creta is a bit longer and taller than Swift. However, this apparently won't make a difference.

Maruti Swift:

  • With 265 litres of boot space, the Maruti Swift offers pretty decent cargo space.

  • The Creta boasts a 360-degree camera and dual-zone automatic climate control, catering to the discerning needs of modern drivers.

  • Base trims have manual windows and locks, while higher variants get power windows, central locking, remote keyless entry, and rear parking sensors.

Maruti Swift vs Hyundai Creta - Engine & Performance

The following are the engine and performance features of both the models:

Maruti Swift:

  • The new Swift gets a completely new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. This replaces the older 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder engine used in the previous model.

  • This new engine produces 82 horsepower (PS) and 112 Newton meters (Nm) of torque. While the power output is slightly lower than the previous engine (around 2-3 PS), the torque figures remain similar.

  • The 5-speed Manual Transmission is the standard option, providing drivers with more control over gear changes. It also boasts a claimed fuel efficiency of 24.8 kilometres per litre (kmpl), which is a decent figure for city driving.

  • The 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) offers a more automatic driving experience, where the car handles gear changes itself. The claimed fuel efficiency for the AMT variant is even better at 25.75 kmpl, making it a potentially more economical choice for those who prioritise fuel efficiency over a fully automatic transmission.

  • The car has 1197 cc engine displacement and delivers 24.8 to 25.75 (depending on manual and automatic transmission) kmpl mileage.

Maruti

Hyundai Creta:

  • Diesel engines are known for their excellent fuel efficiency and torque, and the Creta's diesel engine is no exception. The 1.5L Diesel Engine generates 114 horsepower and 250 Nm torque and is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission for efficiency and power.

  • The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol provides more power and performance, making it a good option for those who want a more spirited driving experience. It produces 160 PS of power and 253 Nm of torque, and it's only available with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).

  • The 1.5-litre petrol variant comes with excellent features and is perfect for those who prioritise fuel efficiency. It produces 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of torque, and it's available with a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic transmission.
