In terms of the base model and top models, the Swift is much more affordable than the Tiago EV, with a price difference of ₹1.26 lakhs between the base models and ₹2.09 lakhs between the top models. Moreover, the price difference between the two variants of the Tiago EV is much higher than that of the Swift.

However, the higher price comes as a result of the eco-friendly attributes of the Tiago EV, and in fact, it is one of the most reasonably priced EVs in the market. Its positive environmental impact with zero tailpipe emissions justifies its slightly higher pricing. Also the maintenance and running costs are low as well. The primary difference between the Swift and the Tiago EV lies in their engine specifications. The Swift offers a petrol engine mated to an MT or AMT gearbox, while the Tiago EV comes with a battery and an automatic transmission.

Maruti Swift: 

  • The engine choice of the Swift is a 1.2 litre K12B 1197cc petrol engine paired to a mated to a 5-speed MT or AMT gearbox.

  • The robust engine offers a maximum power of 80bhp@5700 and a maximum torque of 111.7Nm@4300.
