Maruti Suzuki Brezza (Petrol Variants) New Prices after the GST Cut
The Brezza is powered exclusively by a 1.5-litre petrol engine with both manual and automatic transmission options, alongside mild-hybrid technology for improved efficiency. This engine, while refined and fuel-efficient, placed the Brezza in the higher tax bracket earlier.
With GST now revised to a flat 40%, the entire Brezza petrol line-up from the base LXi to the top-end ZXi+ AT sees a reduction in ex-showroom pricing.
Brezza Variant | Old Price (Ex-showroom) | New Price (Ex-showroom) | Reduction | Reduction (%) |
LXI 1.5L 5MT | ₹8,69,000 | ₹8,39,034 | ₹29,966 | 3.45 |
VXI 1.5L 5MT | ₹9,75,000 | ₹9,41,379 | ₹33,621 | 3.45 |
SMART HYBRID ZXI 1.5L 5MT | ₹11,26,000 | ₹10,87,173 | ₹38,827 | 3.45 |
SMART HYBRID ZXI+ 1.5L 5MT | ₹12,58,000 | ₹12,14,620 | ₹43,380 | 3.45 |
SMART HYBRID VXI 1.5L 6AT | ₹11,15,000 | ₹10,76,552 | ₹38,448 | 3.45 |
SMART HYBRID ZXI 1.5L 6AT | ₹12,65,999 | ₹12,22,344 | ₹43,655 | 3.45 |
SMART HYBRID ZXI+ 1.5L 6AT | ₹13,98,000 | ₹13,49,793 | ₹48,207 | 3.45 |
This makes the Brezza more competitive against key rivals like the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza (CNG Variants) New Prices after the GST Cut
In addition to petrol, the Brezza is also offered with a factory-fitted CNG option, which has been well-received among buyers looking for a compact SUV with lower running costs.
The revised GST structure applies equally to the Brezza CNG trims, resulting in a price drop for these variants as well.
Brezza Variant | Old Price (Ex-showroom) | New Price (Ex-showroom) | Reduction | Reduction (%) |
LXI CNG 1.5L 5MT | ₹9,64,001 | ₹9,30,759 | ₹33,242 | 3.45 |
VXI CNG 1.5L 5MT | ₹10,69,999 | ₹10,33,103 | ₹36,896 | 3.45 |
ZXI CNG 1.5L 5MT | ₹12,21,000 | ₹11,78,897 | ₹42,103 | 3.45 |
With this price cut, the Brezza CNG has become one of the most affordable-to-own SUVs in the sub-compact category.
Why have the prices been reduced for the Maruti Suzuki Brezza?
The Maruti Brezza’s price reduction is a result of the government’s new GST 2.0 policy, which aims to rationalise automobile taxation. Previously, vehicles under 4 metres with engines above 1.2 litres and up to 1.5 litres (petrol/CNG) were subject to 28% GST + 17% cess = 45% total tax.
With the revision to the GST policy, this category has been moved to a flat 40% GST with no cess.
Category | Old GST | Old Cess | Old Total Tax | New GST | New Total Tax | Change in Tax |
Compact cars (above 1,200cc and up to 1,500cc petrol/CNG) | 28% | 17% | 45% | 40% | 40% | 5% lower than before |
This move simplifies taxation and reduces costs for buyers, while also giving manufacturers greater clarity in pricing their vehicles.
When are the new rates applicable?
The new GST rates for compact SUVs like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza come into effect from September 22, 2025. Any Brezza purchased or billed after this date will carry the revised ex-showroom prices.
With the rise in demand for compact SUVs, this price drop comes at the right time. If you were eyeing the Maruti Brezza, it's wise to make the move now. You can get a maximum price cut of up to ₹48,000, depending on the variant you purchase.
Disclaimer: The new prices mentioned in this article are tentative and based on the revised GST rates applicable from 22 September 2025. Final ex-showroom prices may vary slightly as manufacturers and dealerships update their pricing structures in line with the new taxation policy.
