The Tata Harrier has been one of Tata Motors’ most successful SUVs, blending bold design with robust performance from its 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine. Known for its commanding presence on the road, premium cabin and features, the Harrier competes in the mid-size SUV space against the likes of the MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar.
With the introduction of the GST 2.0 reforms, effective from September 22, 2025, the Harrier will benefit from a major tax correction. Until now, large diesel SUVs over 4 metres in length attracted 28% GST plus a hefty 22% cess, bringing the total tax burden to 50%. Under the new framework, the cess has been completely removed, and a flat 40% GST rate has been applied.
This means Harrier buyers can expect a noticeable price drop across its entire variant line-up.
