Exterior Design 

The exteriors of the BMW iX reflect the philosophy that greatness does not need complications. The ‘Sports’ package has clearly defined proportions and a tightly modelled surface. At the front, the blanked-off BMW kidney grille has radar sensors and a camera. The sleek headlights complement the look. The SUV tapers towards the rear, which creates an elegant silhouette. Interior and Features

The cabin space of iX is reminiscent of luxury boutique hotels. Design and technology come together in the cockpit, with each control element blending with the Atelier theme. The seats are comfortable with integrated headrests. The gold bronze accent on the headrests elevates the premium feel. The seats come in an elaborate seam pattern with a mix of perforated and non-perforated areas and high-quality vegan leather upholstery. 

The racing-inspired contours of the unique hexagonal-shaped steering wheel allow easy entry, seating comfort and a view of the Curved Display. A modern toggle switch functions as the gear selector. The centre console is placed freely between the front seats and has the audio roller beside the toggle switch. A panoramic glass roof lounge floods the cabin with light and creates an inviting ambience. It can become opaque when required without the need for a sliding roof lining. 

The BMW Curved Display has a free-floating appearance and spreads across the dashboard. It hosts the 14.9-inch central information display and the 12.3-inch instrument panel. This one-piece system is truly the next generation of human-machine interfaces. 

The BMW iX's automated temperature control system has updated touchscreen controls and a nanofibre air purification filter. The optional Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System includes speakers hidden under the head restraints and a 4D Audio feature that uses bass shakers in the front seats.

The BMW iDrive blends analogue and digital technology with the 'Great Entrance Moments' feature, allowing the SUV to open a proactive and personal dialogue between you and the car. The BMW OS 8.5 shows relevant content using the Control Display. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant helps control climate and car features and plays music with simple activation words. A unique offering is the Shy Tech technology that displays features when needed or else keeps them in the background.

A specially recorded driving sound enhances driving excitement, giving realistic feedback in response to speed and accelerator motions. New sound variations from a partnership with composer Hans Zimmer can be added to the acoustic repertoire using the standard BMW IconicSounds Electric function.

BMW iX Battery Capacity 

The BMW iX gets a high voltage 105.2 kWh Lithium-ion battery with a power of 516.29 bhp and torque of 765Nm. It has an impressive consumption rate of 20.7 to 18.7 kWh/100km. The BMW iX's fifth-generation eDrive technology is centred around a drive unit that houses the gearbox, power electronics, and electric motor all in one housing. The synchronous motor has the rotor energised by an electrical energy feed-in as opposed to fixed permanent magnets. It allows it to maintain its maximum torque over a very wide rpm range and to be used instantly upon pulling away. 

The BMW iX's Combined Charging Unit (CCU) II is engineered to provide an exceptionally high degree of charging flexibility. 

• A 195 kW DC fast charger takes 35 minutes to charge from 10-80%

• A 50 kW DC fast charger takes 97 minutes to charge from 10-80%

BMW iX Performance

The BMW iX can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.6 seconds and reach a 200km/h top speed. It has a drag coefficient of 0.25. There are three drive modes to choose from: Eco Pro, Comfort and Sport. In every driving condition, the BMW iX's electric all-wheel-drive system delivers precisely the appropriate amount of drive torque to the front and rear wheels. Its clever control makes a fully variable power gearbox possible, spanning from an all-wheel-drive setup that maximises traction to a highly efficient pure rear-wheel drive system. 

The all-wheel drive combined with near-actuator wheel slip-limiting technology results in even better handling stability and traction. This system, which is integrated into the motor management, generates extremely accurate and quick corrective inputs, allowing the automobile to move forward effortlessly at all times, even in adverse weather and on poorly maintained roads.

Adaptive recuperation increases the BMW iX's efficiency and range even more. When a vehicle is equipped with intelligently connected drive management, data from the navigation system and sensors utilised by the driver assistance systems can be used to determine the appropriate level of brake energy recuperation during overrun and active braking. 

BMW iX Mileage

The BMW iX offers a WLTP claimed range of 635 km. on a full charge, which makes it ideal for long drives, as it requires fewer stops for battery refill.

Safety 

The BMW iX has an extensive 8 airbags that support its robust build. With a 5-star safety rating, the SUV also has standard safety features like ABD with EBD, central locking, child safety locks, an anti-theft alarm, a rear day and night rearview mirror, a seat belt warning, and a door-ajar warning.

The BMW iX is outfitted with an extensive array of advanced driver-assist technologies. The front collision warning system now recognises bicycles, pedestrians and incoming traffic during turns. It, along with the brake intervention, is part of the Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function. Two new features are the remote theft recorder and the exit warning function, which informs users of the presence of bikes or pedestrians in the vicinity before the doors are unlocked. 

The steering land assist helps with long journeys by managing cruise control. The lane change assist executes lane changes by itself, and the front and rear crossing traffic warns drivers of narrow roads and unclear situations.
