Engine CC (Capacity)  

The Mahindra Thar Roxx comes in two broad categories of engines: one runs on petrol and the other on diesel. The petrol engine is called the Turbo Petrol Direct Injection (TGDI) mStallion, and it comes with only the real-wheel-drive option. On the other hand, you have the Diesel Common Rail Direct Injection Technology - mHawk, which offers both RWD and 4x4 drive options. The petrol engine has a capacity of 2 litres while the diesel engine is slightly larger at 2.2 litres.   

Transmission 

In terms of transmission, the Mahindra Thar Roxx offers many alternatives and flexibility to choose from based on your needs.  The petrol engine comes with two transmission options: a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. 

The diesel engine in the Mahindra Thar Roxx offers more choices, including a 6-speed manual transmission, a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, and a 6-speed torque convertor for the AWD option. While there is no official clarification from Mahindra about the top speed of the Roxx, the vehicle will certainly exceed expectations. Given the engine specs of all the available options with the Mahindra Thar Roxx, it is fair to conclude that it will easily reach a top speed of 155 kmph. This is more than enough to ensure you enjoy a nice drive on highways.

   

Mileage 

Fuel efficiency is not one of the strongest suits of the Mahindra Thar Roxx, and this should not come as a surprise with such big engines. But even with a 2-litre petrol engine, this SUV offers a reasonable mileage of 12.4 kmpl. Then comes the diesel engine that offers an average mileage of 15.2 kmpl.
