Validity of Learner Licence in Ladakh

The learner's licence in Ladakh remains valid for six months from the date of issue. The holder of the licence is supposed to practice driving during this period under supervision as well as prepare for the test for a permanent driving licence. The period is legally determined and provides new drivers with sufficient time to understand road regulations, vehicle handling, and safe driving habits.

After six months, the validity period ends, and the learner's licence expires automatically. This licence cannot be extended or renewed, unlike some other government papers. If the learner has not taken or passed the test for a permanent licence within these six months, they will have to go through the process all over again.
