While the Ducati Panigale V2 has gained a new colour option, the Monster 30 Anniversario is a limited edition model.
Ducati has introduced a new “Black on Black” colour option with the Panigale V2 superbike for the Indian market. Priced at ₹20.98 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the Ducati Panigale V2 with this new stealth black colour option will cost you ₹30,000 more than with the Ducati Red paint option. Bookings for the same have commenced at the moment across the country, and deliveries will start soon.
On the other end of the spectrum, the Bologna-based company has also brought the Monster 30 Anniversario edition to India. Only 500 units of the naked motorcycle will be built making it an exclusive motorcycle. Just like the Panigale V2, this limited edition Monster also benefits from a unique livery that depicts the Italian flag across the motorcycle’s body, thus giving it a vibrant appeal.
The all-black treatment makes the Panigale V2 look quite menacing yet sober in appeal. The liveries on the body are very subtle and yet distinct. We can find the ‘V2’ sticker on the side of the fairing in a contrasting glossy finish, with the ‘Panigale’ and ‘Ducati’ badges finished in red, giving a nice contrast. A similar treatment can also be noticed on the wheel rims, which further gives a nice sporty touch.
However, with the Monster 30 Anniversario edition, Ducati has also fitted several premium lightweight components which have helped shed 4 kg of kerb weight from the standard bike. This includes forged aluminium wheels, a lighter Ohlins front fork, a Termignoni exhaust, and a lithium-ion battery.
As aesthetically succinct as the Panigale V2 looks with the new paint option, mechanically it has remained unchanged. So it continues to be powered by the 955 cc, liquid-cooled, L-twin engine with the same 155 bhp and 104 Nm output figures as before. Similarly, the Ducati Monster also continues to be powered by the same 937 cc, L-twin engine that is good for 110 bhp and 93 Nm.
As for their competition, the Ducati Panigale V2 will continue to have the likes of the Honda CBR1000RR and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10 RR as its competition. On the other hand, the Ducati Monster 30 Anniversario Edition model will be a unique offering due to its exclusivity making it an ideal collector’s item.
