Hero has unveiled its all-new Destini 125, showcasing significant upgrades across various aspects of the scooter. While pricing details are yet to be announced, it's expected to be ₹4,000-₹6,000 higher than its predecessor which is still available and is priced between₹80,048 and ₹86,538 (ex-showroom, India). Let's delve into the key improvements:
The 2024 Destini 125 rides on an optimised platform shared with the Hero Xoom 110, resulting in a 57mm longer wheelbase. The scooter now sports 12-inch wheels with revised suspension tuning, promising improved handling and stability. Aesthetically, it draws inspiration from Hero's Vida range, featuring H-shaped DRLs surrounding new LED headlights and a projector setup. Chrome accents add a vibrant touch to its refreshed look. Practicality is enhanced with an external fuel-filler tank and what Hero claims to be the largest seat in its segment.
While the Destini 125 retains its 124.6cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, producing 9 bhp and 10.4 Nm of torque, Hero has managed to squeeze out better efficiency by tweaking the CVT gearbox. The company boasts a best-in-class fuel efficiency of 59 kmpl. Impressively, these improvements come without any change to the scooter's 115 kg kerb weight.
Hero has significantly enhanced the Destini 125 Xtec's feature set. The base and mid-spec variants come with a semi-digital instrument cluster, while the top-spec boasts a fully digital LCD with a negative display. Bluetooth connectivity enables call and SMS notifications, and notably, it also gets turn-by-turn navigation. Safety features have been upgraded too, with a disc brake option for higher trims and an innovative engine cut-off feature that activates in the event of a crash or fall – a first in its segment.
To cater to diverse tastes, the new Destini 125 Xtec will also be available in five attractive colours, namely, Eternal White, Regal Black, Mystique Magenta, Cosmic Blue, Groovy Red
