Honda has patented both the base-spec and top-spec Adventure Sport trims of the Africa Twin in India.
After its global debut last year, the 2024 Honda Africa Twin is now slated to make its way to our country. Design patents for the same have already been filed, and while both the base-spec and top-spec Adventure Sport trims have been patented, the latter has the most chances of launching here, for that has has been the case before.
As for the patented design, one of the biggest noteworthy updates will be the implementation of the 19-inch front wheel. This should make the adventure bike more touring and urban riding friendly, however, its off-road prowess will remain unabated. Additionally, the 2024 Honda Africa Twin will also look slightly different and sharper than before for the face along with the front and side fairing panels will also see updates.
Mechanically, the 2024 Honda African Twin has also undergone revisions By changing the compression ratio of the 1084 parallel-twin engine, peak torque has increased from 103 Nm at 6,250 rpm to 112 Nm at 5,500 rpm.
The ergonomics sees changes too, and the Honda Africa Twin now gets adjustable seat height, coupled with a electronically suspension lowering setting which further helps reduce the seat height to 810 mm. However, these features are available with the European-spec Africa Twin, now whether they also make its way to India-spec model remains to be seen.
Currently, the Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports model is sold in India priced between ₹16.02 lakh to ₹17.56 lakh (ex-showroom, Haryana). Given the number of changes Honda is set to introduce with its flagship adventure tourer, a bump in its ex-showroom price is a high possibility.
