The upcoming Triumph Daytona 660 will be based on the same platform that also underpins the Trident 660.
As Triumph gears up for the launch of the new Daytona 660, the British brand has been warming up to the occasion with the release of several teaser photos and videos. The latest gives us an aural experience as to how the upcoming middle-weight, fully-faired sports motorcycle will sound.
It has already been confirmed before that the upcoming Daytona 660 will be based on the same platform that currently underpins Triumph’s 660cc offerings, the Trident 660 and Triumph Tiger. So, given that the upcoming Daytona 660 will be powered by the same 660cc, inline-three engine, the sound has taken a hit for sure. Unlike the 765cc engine as seen on the limited-edition Triumph Daytona 765 Moto2 Edition), the upcoming Daytona 660 sounded more shrill, compared to the heavy bass symphony that earlier Daytona were synonymous with.
As for the 660 cc, inline-3 engine, that powers the Trident and Tiger 660, produces 80 bhp and 64 Nm of torque. These output figures are expected to remain the same in the Daytona 660 as well, however, gearing ratios are expected to be altered to suit the motorcycle’s sporty characteristics.
When Will The Triumph Daytona 660 Launch In India?
Triumph has confirmed that the new Daytona 660 will be unveiled to the global audience on January 9. The bike is expected to make its way to India in the second half of 2024 and will compete against the Honda CBR650F and the Kawasaki Ninja 650.
