The BMW i5 M60 xDrive with its neck-bending acceleration is a sheer joy to drive around the tracks.
BMW has been bringing its big guns to India at quite the rapid pace, and the one that impressed us the most with its performance was the BMW i5 M60 xDrive. Launched last year as the brand’s first proper ‘M’ badged EV car, the i5 M60 xDrive left our jurors raving the most. More than the other nominees in this list which included the BMW M5, Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance, Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe, Porsche Macan Turbo Electric, and the Porsche Panamera.
So what made the jurors hold the BMW i5 M60 xDrive in such high regards, you may ask. For starters, it was not just about its manic acceleration wherein this performance sedan can do the 0-100 kmph dash in just 3.8 seconds. Moreso, it was the whole round of changes that BMW made to the performance sedan to extract that added performance in a fun engaging manner. You should note here, that with two electric motors on board paired to a massive 83.9 kWh battery, the i5 M60 xDrive produces a mammoth 592 bhp and 795 Nm of peak torque at its disposal. To extract all of that performance in a very tractable manner is not an easy task, but BMW has pulled it off with flying colours.
