While the list of new showcases is not that much, they will be crucial launches from the Japanese in the Indian market.
Suzuki has already kickstarted its 2025 campaign by updating its 150 cc and 250 cc bikes to the latest OBD-2B emission norms. But the Japanese will still have quite a few new products slated for launch this year, the likes of which will be displayed at the upcoming 2025 Auto Expo. Here’s what you should expect to see from Suzuki at the Bharat Mandapam from January 17-22.
The Suzuki Access 125 has always been a popular product, and the fact that it crossed the 6 million sales milestone in the country is a testament to that. It’s a reliable, fun scooter to ride around in the city. Without tampering with this formula much will be the next-gen Access 125 with a bunch of styling updates and a few new features.
We have already spotted the test mules of the same before, which suggested a spacious, flatter seat. The floorboard has also increased, and the front apron had a distinct sharp and sporty appeal. Mechanically, the next-gen Access 125 is expected to be powered by the same 124 cc, single-cylinder, engine that now produces 8.6 bhp and 10 Nm. But to comply with the latest emission norms, there might be a slight change in tune.
The Burgman electric scooter will be one of the most anticipated launches from Suzuki this year. It will carry forward the same bulky, wide-body design that we have grown to adore. Feature-wise, it might see a few upgrades as well, like a TFT cluster, and all LED lighting. What remains to be seen is will the Burgman electric be powered by swappable batteries, like the Honda Activa e:, something that is present on the model shown in 2023 in Japan? Moreover, will the batteries eat into that massive boot space, or has Suzuki found a way around this?
Suzuki’s most iconic motorcycle offering in the country, the Hayabusa, was updated earlier this year with new colour options. This revised aesthetic has helped make the bike look more vibrant and premium than before, and you can learn all about the new colour options by heading to the link here. Along with that, the launch control and smart cruise control have also been optimised for better rider tractability. Beyond that bike has not undergone any major changes as such.
Last year at the Bharat Mobility, Suzuki showcased both the GSX-8R and the V-Strom 800 DE, both of which were eventually launched in the country in 2024. At the upcoming Auto Expo, we expect Suzuki will also bring the GSX-8S naked sport bike and showcase it to garner a market response.
