Auto Sales July 2025: TVS Scooters Continue to Drive Growth

TVS Motor Company reported a 29% YoY growth in sales during July. 4,56,350 TVS two- and three-wheelers were sold in July 2025, as against 3,54,140 units in July 2024. Of the total sales, 4,38,790 units were two-wheelers, a 29% growth against the 339,676 units sold in July 2024. In the domestic market, 3,08,720 motorcycles and scooters were sold, which was 21% more than the 254,250 units sold in July 2024. The rest were exported. 

TVS’ motorcycle portfolio registered a 25% growth in July 2025 when 2,01,494 units were sold, compared to 1,61,074 units retailed during the same month last year. But it was the brand’s scooter portfolio that registered a higher growth of 42%, with sales increasing from 139,995 units in July 2024 to 198,265 units in July 2025.

The homegrown major’s export business grew by 46%, from 97,589 units exported in July 2024 to 142,629 units in July 2025. At 1,30,070 units, two-wheeler exports saw a 52% growth, over 85,426 units in July 2024. 

In the emerging electric mobility space, TVS Motor leads the two-wheeler segment. In July 2025, the brand retailed 23,605 iQubes, which was 10% more than the 21,442 units it sold in the same period. Betting on the prospects in the emerging industry, TVS plans to expand its EV portfolio. The company’s CEO K N Radhakrishnan told analysts in a call on Thursday that TVS will also enter the electric bicycle category.

Besides further strengthening its EV portfolio, TVS looks to enter the adventure motorcycle segment later this year. Its debut adventure motorcycle, the RTX 300, will be powered by a 299 cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that has been developed by TVS from scratch.
