Prices for both have gone up by around ₹5000.
Bajaj has refreshed its Dominar series of power cruisers with the Dominar 250 now retailing at ₹1,91,654 while the larger Dominar 400 now arrives at ₹2,38,682 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). The price premium that one now has to pay for the two bikes is roughly ₹5000.
For the premium, Bajaj is kitting out both Dominars with 4 riding modes and a couple of touring-friendly accessories. Both bikes will get Rain, Road, Sport and Off-Road riding modes that will alter the throttle response as well as ABS intervention levels. While the 400 will not get a ride-by-wire system, the smaller 250 will continue to have a cable operated throttle body.
The other major update is that the Dominar siblings will get the same digital screen as the Pulsar NS400Z. We had spotted the updated Dominar 400 a few months ago where we came to know about the new feature. Bajaj claims to have also redesigned the handlebar to make it more comfortable on long rides. You would also find revised switchgear here so as to be able to toggle through the settings. Finally, Bajaj has thrown in a GPS mount for riders to attach their GPS systems or mobile phones.
Considering the updates aren’t major, the price hike seems more or less justified. However, the Dominar series has not been quite as popular as Bajaj would have hoped and these small additions don’t really make it all the more appealing. A major rethink for the brand is necessary and hopefully, we see some rather capable machines replacing these ones.
