Visual tweaks and being more practical are the only main highlights.
BMW has updated the C 400 GT and C 400 X to comply with the latest emission norms in Europe, i.e. Euro5+. Alongside, the Bavarian manufacturer has also introduced a bunch of upgrades that have made the scooter more practical and look slightly different with a distinct rugged touch to it.
Unfortunately, BMW Motorrad hasn't tinkered with the powertrain of the middleweight scooters, so both the C 400 GT and C 400 X continue to be powered by the same 350 cc, liquid-cooled, four-valve single that is good for 34 bhp and 35 Nm, mated to a CVT gearbox. However, a new exhaust that is longer and bigger than before has been introduced, which ensures compliance with Euro5+ emissions standards.
To further the safety quotient of both the middleweight scooters, BMW Motorrad has also made lean-sensitive, dynamic brake control, and engine drag torque control have been standardised. Additionally, the BMW C 400 GT and C 400 X get a new 6.5-inch TFT screen as standard, and the C 400 GT can be upgraded to a 10.25-inch screen.
However, the most significant updates must be the larger under-seat storage space which has grown by 3-litres, and the addition of a new manually adjustable windshield – both of which will make new BMW C 400 GT and C 400 X able tourers. In addition to the larger under seat storage space, the beemers are also available with a new 43.5-litre top case with interior lighting and a USB charging port.
Lastly, the BMW C 400 GT and C 400 X have been tweaked slightly to look different, especially at the front with a distinct beak design. Aesthetic updates include new colour options for both models. The GT introduces a premium "Exclusive" variant in Diamond white metallic with bronze wheels, while the X offers a new "Rugged" version featuring matte finish paint and red accents.
While we do get the BMW C 400 GT here, with an asking price of ₹11.25 lakh, it's quite expensive and thereby quite a niche affair. However, given BMW recently launched the all-electric CE 04 and the CE 02, the chances of the updated 2025 BMW C 400 GT making its way to India cannot be negated totally.
