For 2025, the Ducati Multistrada V2 has become lighter, more powerful, and now looks more on lines like its elder siblings, the Multistrada V4s.
Ducati continues to introduce new-generation bikes for 2025, and the latest to break cover is the new Ducati Multistrada V2. Powered by the brand new V2 engine, which the Borgo-Panigale-based manufacturer debuted last month at EICMA 2024 — that was followed up by showcasing the Panigale V2 and the Streetfighter V2, the bikes it’ll power. Ducati has now unveiled the third member of that family with the new 2025 Multistrada V2. This also means that the 937 cc Testastretta twin from the Desert X has been replaced.
With the new 890 cc V-twin engine comes more power. The new 54 kg mill produces 113.4 bhp at 10,750 rpm, up from 111 bhp at 9,000 rpm. Peak torque might have dropped from 96 Nm to 92.1 Nm, but it is produced at a higher 8,250 rpm than 7,750 rpm before. Ducati says that 70 per cent of the torque will be available at 3,500 rpm until 11,000 rpm, which means it can pull up from any gear, even if you’re at 5th doing 50 kmph, for instance. The engine needs a valve clearance every 30,000 km and is available with a four-year unlimited mileage warranty.
The engine acts as a stressed member of the aluminium monocoque chassis, but the subframe is redesigned with the new double-sided swingarm. The overall body design has been enhanced in some parts for better ride comfort. For instance, the side panels are designed to channel cool air to the rider, protecting it from engine heat. And yet, Ducati claims that the main chassis will feel slim. Without the 19-litre fuel tank filled to the brim, the new Multistrada V2 tips the scale at 199 kg. The standard seat height is 850 mm, which can be brought down to 830 mm. But with a low-seat accessory, it can be further brought down to 810 mm.
The 2025 Ducati Multistrada V2 will be available in two trims – V2 and V2 S. The difference between both is primarily in their suspension componentry. The monocoque chassis is sprung by 45 mm fully adjustable Marzocchi USD fork and a rear shock in the base-spec Multistrada V2. In the Multistrada V2 S, it’s replaced by a 45 mm USD fork and a mono-shock with electronic semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension system. This further helps bring down the seat height down to 790 mm. Braking duties are carried out by dual 320 mm semi-floating discs carry out braking duties, and a 265 mm disc with Brembo 4-piston callipers and 2-piston callipers, front and rear, respectively in both the bikes.
Wrapping up this architecture is a typical Multistrada design with tall shoulders and muscular proportions. The front has undergone a significant change, making it look bigger than the Ducati Multistrada V4. The headlight design, in particular, has trickled down from the latest Panigale V4, though.
On the features front, both bikes get a 5-inch colour TFT dash with smartphone connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation, and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), etc. Along with it, a full suite of electronic riding aids, including different ride modes, power modes, traction control, engine brake control, etc., are also there. And heated grips and cruise control added to the mix as standard to keep matters comfortable during long rides with the V2.
The new Ducati Multistrada V2 has just been unveiled for the global market. It should launch here in India, and we expect somewhere in mid-2025.
