The spy shot surfaced days after Ducati introduced the V2 Superquadro Final Edition.
Barely days after Ducati unveiled the special collector’s Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition, signalling the end of its iconic Superquadro twin-cylinder engine – the Borgo-Panigale-based Italian manufacturer has now been spotted testing a new motorcycle. While we can’t say with certainty that the test mule spotted is the upcoming Ducati Panigale V2, the fact that this is a Ducati supersport bike is given away by some of the design languages that we have discussed below.
For starters, the headlamp style is vividly reminiscent of the Multistrada’s headlamp design. This indicates the advent of a new Panigale face. Consequently, the turn indicators have also been shifted from the headlamp section to the fairing section. With the new fascia, Ducati has also updated the fairing design albeit retaining its sleek and athletic styling.

One major hardware component that makes us believe that this is indeed the Panigale V2, is its rear offset monoshock spring. Furthermore, the absence of the single-sided swingarm is a bigger indication that it isn’t the larger V4 sport bike.
Ducati might have ditched the Superquadro V2 motor, it might not ditch the engine format for its smaller sportbike altogether. The upswept undertail twin exhaust system is quite like a race-bike or the famed 600s of the early 2000s.
We expect the production version to be unveiled somewhere before the end of this year, possibly at the upcoming World Ducati Week. Else, a secret sighting might be provided to all Ducatistis at the celebration of Ducatis followed by a global debut at EICMA.
