The second-generation Venue launches November 4 with refreshed design, premium interior, and advanced technology
Hyundai is all set to launch the new generation of the Venue in India on November 4, 2025. Building on over a decade of success, the second-generation Venue represents a significant evolution from its predecessor, featuring a thoroughly modernised exterior, a dramatically upgraded cabin, and enhanced powertrain options. For buyers considering the new Venue or those curious about what separates it from the older model, we have all the details in the story
The transformation in the exterior design stands out as one of the most dramatic changes between the old and new Venue. The outgoing model adopted a softer, more rounded aesthetic that emphasised approachability and urban appeal. The current generation takes an entirely different direction, embracing a bolder, more assertive design language shared across Hyundai's latest SUV lineup, including the Exter and Alcazar.
At the front, the new Venue features a striking rectangular grille with dark chrome inserts, immediately distinguishing it from the older model's rounded, chrome-heavy grille. The headlamp cluster has been redesigned with a quad-LED configuration, positioned below the main headlights, paired with distinctive C-shaped LED daytime running lights that flow seamlessly from the top and cascade into the bumper, creating a unique signature lighting pattern. The old Venue employed separate LED DRLs with a more conventional appearance.

The new Venue also sports a considerably more aggressive front bumper, featuring a prominent silver-finished skid plate that dominates the lower section—a feature largely absent on the previous generation. This contributes to a more rugged, purposeful appearance befitting a true SUV.
From the profile, the differences become equally apparent. The new model sits 48 millimetres taller and 30 millimetres wider than its predecessor, giving it a noticeably stronger road presence. The roof rails are longer and more prominent, the wheel arch claddings appear more muscular, and the overall body line appears tauter and more sculpted. The new Venue rides on redesigned 16 and 17-inch alloy wheels, depending on the trim level, whereas the older model featured less aggressive wheel designs.
Dimension | Old Hyundai Venue | 2025 Hyundai Venue | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Length | 3,995 mm | 3,995 mm | No change |
| Width | 1,770 mm | 1,800 mm | +30 mm |
| Height | 1,617 mm | 1,665 mm | +48 mm |
| Wheelbase | 2,500 mm | 2,520 mm | +20 mm |
At the rear, the new Venue features a full-width connected LED light strip running across the tailgate, joining two vertical taillamp housings—a marked departure from the outgoing model's more conventional taillamp arrangement. The rear bumper has been substantially redesigned with a larger overall footprint, dual-tone black and silver trim, vertical reflectors, and an angular scooped tailgate that reinforces the vehicle's stronger, more integrated appearance.
Colour options have also expanded. The new Venue is available in eight choices, including two new monotone colours—Hazel Blue and Mystic Sapphire—alongside existing options such as Abyss Black, Atlas White, Titan Grey, and Dragon Red. Buyers can also opt for dual-tone finishes combining Hazel Blue or Atlas White with a black roof, a feature not available on the older generation.

Where the exterior represents an evolution, the cabin showcases a complete transformation that elevates the Venue into a more premium territory. The old Venue's interior, whilst functional, featured a minimalist design with a single touchscreen, round air vents, and a multi-tiered dashboard layout that prioritised practicality over premium perception.
The new Venue's cabin sees a dashboard featuring a striking curved dual-display setup comprising two 12.3-inch screens—one for the digital instrument cluster and one for the infotainment system—creating a panoramic, cohesive appearance reminiscent of segment leaders. This represents a significant upgrade from the older model's smaller, separate single screen.
The colour scheme has been revised to a sophisticated dual-tone Dark Navy Blue and Dove Grey throughout the cabin, imparting a premium ambiance. The new dashboard adopts a flatter, minimalist layout that appears more spacious and contemporary. The passenger side of the dashboard features the word "Venue" inscribed on a terrazzo-textured insert, adding a touch of personalisation and brand identity.
Air ventilation has been completely redesigned. Whilst the old Venue featured traditional round air vents, the new model incorporates sleek, slim horizontal AC vents and a modern digital climate control panel. The vertical side air vents feature a light bronze finish, complementing the overall interior colour scheme.
The centre console has been redesigned with a modern architecture that houses two cup holders, rotary dials for drive and traction modes, controls for ventilated seat functions, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and an integrated gearstick. The old Venue's centre console, by comparison, was simpler and less feature-rich.

The steering wheel has been entirely redesigned. The new model features a modern 3-spoke flat-bottomed design adorned with an illuminated Morse code pattern (four dots representing the letter 'H') replacing the traditional Hyundai logo. The old Venue featured a conventional 4-spoke steering wheel with a more traditional badge.
Interior space has been enhanced through the increased dimensions. The new Venue is 20 millimetres longer in the wheelbase, providing better legroom and knee room for rear passengers. Rear passengers also now benefit from a 2-step recline function for the rear seats and rear window sunshades—comfort features absent in the previous generation. Rear air vents have also been introduced for climate control comfort throughout the cabin.
Seating surfaces have been upgraded to dual-tone leatherette upholstery, and higher trim levels feature ventilated front seats with three levels of cooling—a luxury feature previously unavailable on the Venue. The new model also includes white ambient lighting throughout the cabin, enhancing the premium atmosphere during evening driving.
The technology gap between the old and new Venue reflects broader industry trends towards connected and autonomous features. The new Venue introduces several technologies that elevate convenience and safety significantly.
The most significant addition is the upgraded Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision alert, and safe exit warning. The old Venue offered only Level 1 ADAS capabilities, representing a substantial leap in autonomous functionality.
The new Venue also features a 360-degree camera system and front parking sensors, whereas the older model relied on conventional parking aids. An 8-speaker Bose sound system replaces the standard audio setup, providing a more immersive listening experience.

Additional conveniences include a wireless phone charger (now standard across more trims), a 4-way powered driver seat, keyless entry with push-button start, cruise control, and an auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror. The new model also supports over-the-air (OTA) software updates, enabling manufacturers to enhance functionality remotely—a feature unavailable on older models.
Safety provisions have been strengthened with six airbags as standard, electronic stability control (ESC), and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Whilst the old Venue offered similar safety fundamentals, the new model's enhanced ADAS and structural improvements provide greater overall protection.
Mechanically, the new Venue retains the same three engine configurations as its predecessor, maintaining proven reliability and performance characteristics. However, Hyundai has introduced an important new transmission option: a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox now accompanies the 1.5-litre diesel engine—a combination previously unavailable on the Venue, though offered on its Kia sibling, the Sonet.
The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine continues to produce 83 brake horsepower and 114 newton-metres of torque, paired exclusively with a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol remains rated at 120 brake horsepower and 172 newton-metres of torque, now available with both a 6-speed manual transmission and a new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission option.
The 1.5-litre diesel engine maintains its output of 116 brake horsepower and 250 newton-metres of torque, now offered with either a 6-speed manual or the newly available 6-speed torque converter automatic—providing diesel-automatic buyers their first opportunity within the Venue lineup.
Engine | Displacement | Power (bhp) | Torque (Nm) | Transmission Options |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Petrol (Naturally Aspirated) | 1.2-litre | 82 | 114 | 5-speed Manual |
| Petrol (Turbo) | 1.0-litre | 118 | 172 | 6-speed Manual / 7-speed Dual-Clutch Automatic |
| Diesel | 1.5-litre | 114 | 250 | 6-speed Manual / 6-speed Torque Converter Automatic |
This expanded transmission availability addresses buyer preferences for automatic convenience, particularly in the diesel segment where the new torque converter option provides a more relaxed driving experience whilst retaining the fuel efficiency benefits of diesel propulsion. The dual-clutch transmission option on the turbo-petrol delivers quicker gear changes and sportier performance characteristics for those prioritising responsiveness.
