Jeep's predecessor, Willys-Overland, played a pivotal role in creating the vehicle that would become a symbol of American ingenuity and determination during WWII.
The Jeep brand has revealed the 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Willys '41 Special Edition, a plug-in hybrid model that draws inspiration from the original Willys MB, the military vehicle that laid the foundation for the Jeep legacy during World War II. The Willys MB, known for its rugged reliability and versatility, was developed in response to the U.S. military’s call for a light reconnaissance vehicle in 1940. Jeep's predecessor, Willys-Overland, played a pivotal role in creating the vehicle that would become a symbol of American ingenuity and determination during WWII. The new Wrangler 4xe Willys '41 channels this history through its design and features.
The vehicle is adorned in a military-inspired olive-drab exterior paint colour, a nod to the original Willys MB’s utilitarian aesthetic. The exclusive 17-inch aluminium wheels, painted to match, are paired with 33-inch all-terrain tyres for robust off-road capability. Special WILLYS/4XE decals, finished in a historically accurate Drab Blue, mimic the stencilling mandated by the U.S. Army during the 1940s. Other Army-themed decals further enhance the homage.
Inside, the Wrangler 4xe Willys '41 features tan Heritage cloth seats, an olive drab fabric dashboard insert, and a distinctive '41 shifter medallion. These elements evoke the straightforward, functional design of the original Jeep while offering modern comfort and style. Buyers have the option to choose from a body-colour hardtop, a Sky One-Touch powertop roof, or an exclusive tan soft top, all designed to maximize the open-air experience.
The 2025 Wrangler 4xe Willys '41 incorporates Jeep’s plug-in hybrid system, which pairs a 2.0-litre turbocharged gas engine with two electric motors and a high-voltage battery pack. The powertrain delivers 34 km of all-electric range.
The Wrangler 4xe Willys '41 is priced with a U.S. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $59,930, excluding the $1,895 destination charge. Orders are open, and the vehicle is expected to arrive in dealerships before the end of 2024. It joins the broader 2025 Jeep Wrangler lineup, which continues to expand with electrified and off-road-ready options.
