Rolls-Royce is breaking tradition with the launch of the new Cullinan Black Badge, which arrives alongside the updated regular model, defying the typical staggered release pattern. Despite industry trends favouring downsizing, both versions of the luxury SUV maintain V12 engines, showcasing Rolls-Royce's commitment to performance and luxury.
The refreshed Cullinan sports a striking front fascia shared with its standard counterpart, featuring distinctive headlights with extended LED daytime running lights and a redesigned front bumper for a sleeker appearance. As the performance-focused variant, the Black Badge model incorporates various black accents throughout its exterior, setting it apart from its predecessor.
In a departure from Rolls-Royce's usual design ethos, the 2025 Cullinan boasts an aesthetic refresh, highlighted by larger 23-inch wheels—the first of its size available for a Black Badge model. These wheels feature an intricate design with a glossy black and silver finish, complemented by customizable brake callipers.
Inside the Cullinan Black Badge, meticulous craftsmanship is evident, particularly in the carbon fibre trim, which undergoes a painstaking 21-day finishing process. The interior also features seats upholstered in Duality Twill, a new textile crafted from bamboo fibres, adorned with intricate stitching and perforations, adding to the opulent ambience of the cabin.
Under the hood, the Cullinan Black Badge is powered by a formidable 6.75-litre V12 engine with twin turbochargers, delivering 600 bhp and an impressive 900 Nm of torque. With torque available from as low as 1,700 rpm, the SUV offers robust performance and agility through a dedicated sports mode for quicker gear shifts and reduced brake pedal travel for improved acceleration.
While the Cullinan Black Badge represents the combustion engine luxury for Rolls-Royce, the brand has committed to transitioning to electric vehicles by 2030. The upcoming follow-up model, expected to debut towards the end of the decade, is anticipated to be fully electric, aligning with Rolls-Royce's vision for a sustainable future.
