Yamaha is expected to showcase the new version of the ADV at the upcoming EICMA 2024.
Yamaha is currently developing the next generation of the Ténéré 700 and its subsequent prototype was recently spotted in Southern Europe. Spy shots of the camouflaged model unveil several new details.
For starters, the fairing design will undergo serious redesigning, quite different from the current Ténéré 700. Even small details like the windshield and the knuckle guards seem new. The main headlight is new and the prototype boasted four round dots as light graphics. However, despite these nips and tucks, the lean and rugged profile of the Ténéré 700 has remained intact, and the bike continues to look as athletic as ever.
Below the headlamp, we can also notice new air intakes slotted between the fairing and the radiator. Additionally, the fairing also boasts of a large air intake which remains covered by the camouflaged wraps. All of which suggests that the Ténéré 700’s motor will be putting out a bit more oomph, thanks to the presence of a RAM air duct. This Yamaha ADV will continue to be powered by the same 689 cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor that currently puts out 73 bhp and 68 Nm.

The double-frame chassis will also be carried over. However, with the 2025 Ténéré 700, Yamaha seems to have used a new link-type suspension for the rear that should aide with more travel and comfort. Meanwhile, the front suspension continues to look identical to the USD fork of the existing model. The Ténéré 700 might also benefit from a different seat with denser cushioning that will be better suited for long-distance touring, aside from just dune bashing.
The final product is expected to be revealed by Yamaha at the upcoming EICMA 2024. Post that, it should go on sale somewhere around November-December starting with the European market wherein the Ténéré 700 will have the likes of the Honda Transalp XL750 and the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE as its competition.
