The new Bajaj Chetak C25 01 goes up against the likes of Ola S1 X, Hero Vida VX2, and TVS Orbiter.
The Chetak has been one of the top-selling electric scooters in the last 5 years, selling around 2.80 lakh units since its launch in 2021. It currently captures a 21 percent market share in the electric two-wheeler segment. Bajaj Auto has launched a new version of the Chetak electric scooter.
Called the Chetak C25 01 at a price of ₹91,399 (ex-showroom), making it the most affordable model in the Chetak lineup. Bookings for the new Chetak C25 01 have begun, while deliveries of the scooter will begin in a phased manner. The latest iteration of the Chetak comes with styling, feature, and functional updates.
The styling changes in the new Bajaj Chetak are very evident. The taillight assembly gets a new horizontally stacked unit, replacing the split setup from the older model. It also gets a redesigned seat that is flatter and measures 650 mm long and 763 mm high. The headlamp retains the iconic horseshoe-shaped cluster with an integrated LED DRL encircling it.

However, the front apron panel has been changed completely. The turn indicators have been repositioned from the apron to the handlebar. The retro styling has been retained albeit with some subtle changes and tighter bodywork including a redesigned single-piece grab rail.

To keep the cost in check, the new Chetak gets a reverse LCD instrument console instead of a TFT unit as seen in the more premium variants. The more affordable Bajaj Chetak also gets a conventional key slot, a twin-sided swingarm and an open glove compartment. Other notable features on offer include LED headlamp and turn indicators, a 25-litre underseat storage, Reverse mode, Bluetooth connectivity, music playback, and a USB charging port.
The Bajaj Chetak comes with a 2.5 kWh NMC battery that offers a claimed IDC range of 113 km. Using a 750W off-board charger, the battery can be rejuvenated 0-80 percent in 2 hours and 25 minutes. The battery supplies power to a 2.2 kW hub-mounted motor. The e-scooter can clock a top speed of 55 kmph. There are two ride modes on offer: Eco and Sport.
Underneath, the new Chetak C25 01 retains the same frame as the rest of the Chetak models that sits on a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers. Braking duties are carried out by front disc and rear drum brakes.
