The new Xtreme 160R will undergo cosmetic changes and will receive feature updates.

Action in the 160 cc space is hotting up as the festive season approaches. First we got to see the updated versions of the TVS Apache RTR160 4V and later the new Bajaj Pulsar N160 series. Now Hero MotoCorp is gearing-up to ride in the updated version of the Hero Xtreme 160R. India’s biggest two-wheeler manufacturer has started teasing the upcoming bike on its social media accounts.

Based on the teaser, one thing is clear that Hero designers are adopting a new design language on the upcoming 160 cc bike and it will be based on the aggressive Hero Xtreme 250R. One can see that all the body panels are now sharper than before, especially the tank and the tail section, which looks completely new. Even the headlight profile is very modern and gets LED lighting. The new Hero Xtreme 160R will continue to feature a single-seat and even the exhaust muffler appears to be unchanged.

The other big update on the feature end we expect of the 2026 Hero Xtreme 160R is the addition of a TFT instrument console with connected features. Last year the bike was updated with ride modes and cruise control, we expect both these features to be carried forward on the new bike. On to the powerplant and we expect it to be powered by the existing 163.2cc, air- and oil-cooled, four-valve engine paired with a five-speed gearbox. It produces 16.4 bhp and 14.6 Nm of peak torque. The existing bike is priced between ₹1.13 and ₹1.20 lakh and we expect the 2026 Xtreme 160R to be priced similarly or carry a marginal premium of ₹2,000-3,000.
