A big month approaches for Indian motorcycle market.
Bike enthusiasts in India will be in for a treat in July for a few manufacturers have scheduled important launches. And we start this list with perhaps one of the most important launches of the year.
The world’s first CNG bike is all slated for debut this week and it will be showcased in full glory in Pune. We’ve already had several glimpses of the prototype unit while doing its test runs, and you can read about it in detail here. This commuter bike from Bajaj will be aimed at disrupting the 125 cc segment with Rajiv Bajaj already claiming that running cost of the CNG bike will be half of its ICE-counterparts. Royal Enfield’s second model on the ‘Sherpa 450’ engine – the Guerrilla 450 will be launched on July 17. Although based on the same platform as the Himalayan 450, the Guerrilla 450 will slot below the ADV and will compete against other retro roadsters like the Triumph Speed 400, for example. It is expected to launch with an aggressive price tag, and as a result of that several cost-saving measures have been taken to make it less premium than its adventure sibling. For starters, it will equip a telescopic fork, not a USD fork, and instead of the fully-digital colour-TFT instrument cluster, the Guerrilla 450 will get the semi-digital instrument cluster from the Super Meteor 650. After its global launch last year, the Triumph Daytona is all set to hit Indian shores this month. While the Hinckley-based manufacturer is yet to confirm a launch date, Triumph dealers across India have already commenced its unofficial bookings. Based on the same 660 cc platform that also underpins the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660, the Triumph Daytona 660 gets the most aggressive engine tune of all with a sky-high rev ceiling at 13,000 rpm. Just like the Triumph Daytona 660, Ducati’s first single-cylinder motorcycle in after a long time, the Hypermotard 698 Mono had already been launched in the global market. It’s India launch this month was recently confirmed by the Bologna-based company via the release of a teaser image.
A major highlight of this upcoming bike will be the 659 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 77.5 bhp and 63 Nm. However, Ducati will also offer an optional Termignoni race exhaust that will further boost the output to 84.5 bhp and 67 Nm. You can learn more about the bike by clicking on the link here.
The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS has already been listed on Ducati India website, which signals its imminent launch. The most powerful iteration of the Multistrada V4, with the RS badge, Ducati has tuned the Desmosedici V4 engine to produce 180 bhp at 12,250 rpm, making it more powerful than the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak that produces 168 bhp. Aside from being the most powerful engine, it is also the lightest Multistrada V4 of all for it uses a titanium subframe that helps shed 2.5 kg from its total kerb weight. All in all, the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS is for those no-holds-bar enthusiasts who want an all-out performance bike that can take on any road on this planet.
