mBAJA SAEINDIA 2026 has commenced at BVRIT, Narsapur, bringing together 51 student teams to compete in an engineering design challenge centred on sustainable mobility and real-world innovation.
mBAJA SAEINDIA 2026 was inaugurated at B V Raju Institute of Technology, marking the start of this year’s competition centred on innovation, sustainability, and applied engineering excellence. Powered by Bharat Petroleum’s Speed High Performance Petrol, the event has drawn participation from 51 student teams.
The 2026 theme, Torque to Triumph, reflects the journey from technical capability to real-world performance across diverse terrains, with a focus on advancing sustainable mobility and connectivity.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Prof. T. Kishen Kumar Reddy, Vice Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad; Mr. Govinda Bhattarai of Nepal Automobiles Association; and Mr. Balraj Subramaniam, Chairman of BAJA SAEINDIA 2026.
Welcoming participants, Mr. Subramaniam highlighted the platform’s growth since 2007 and its continued commitment to promoting sustainable mobility solutions.
Mr. Aditya Vissam from Sri Vishnu Educational Society noted that hosting the event aligns with BVRIT’s emphasis on experiential learning and industry engagement.
Dr. K. C. Vora of NAMTECH emphasised the competition’s evolution alongside emerging mobility trends and its role in strengthening technical depth among students.
Industry partners including MathWorks and JK Tyre & Industries Ltd reiterated the importance of simulation-driven design and exposure to real-world engineering constraints.
Mr. Bhattarai described mBAJA SAEINDIA as a cross-border platform fostering collaboration between young engineers and the mobility ecosystem.
In his keynote address, Prof. Reddy highlighted the value of such competitions in bridging classroom learning with practical industry challenges, enabling students to develop skills related to safety, cost efficiency, manufacturability, and timelines.
Day 1 concluded with 46 teams completing sales presentations and 26 teams finishing manufacturing excellence evaluations. Technical inspections are currently underway.
