ACKO Drive Awards 2026: The MG M9 is in a Class of its Own, Winning 2026 Luxury MPV

The MG M9 had no competition in our 2026 Luxury MPV category, being the only such car launched this year. However, it wins because it’s carving out an exclusive little niche of its own as a pure-electric luxury people-mover, ideal for those who value passenger comfort above all else. In fact, the company calls it a “Presidential limousine”. This is a huge, imposing van with more than enough space for VIP guests to recline and relax while someone else does the driving. 

The middle-row seats, called Presidential seats, are where you want to be on a long road trip. You can lie almost flat, extend the four-way adjustable footrest, and turn on the eight-way massage function, ventilation, and heating. Individual touchscreens let you control seat positions and save presets for quick use later, along with adjusting the AC, ambient lighting, and panoramic roof. Boot space goes up to 1720 litres for hauling luggage and equipment, and there’s also a 55 litre frunk. 

With a 90kWh battery, MG claims 548km of range plus 245 ps of power and 350 nm of torque. There are seven airbags, ADAS, a driver monitoring system, a digital IRVM, heated ORVMs, self-sealing tyres, and a 5-star Euro NCAP rating for safety.
