2024 Acko Drive Awards: Royal Enfield Himalayan Is The ADV Of The Year

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is perhaps one of the most highly anticipated motorcycles of 2023 arrived right towards the end of the year and it surely was a marked improvement over its predecessor. While it kick started the segment nearly a decade ago, the new one has to face a lot of contenders, some arriving alongside it as well. Thankfully, it has made the right strides to win the 2024 Acko Drive Awards' ADV Motorcycle Of The Year.

While you will be able to note that the essence of the OG Himalayan on the new bike, the actual motorcycle feels quite different. It has gone from a compact accommodating motorcycle that can do a multitude of things well to now doing the highway touring and off roading business brilliantly.

Hence, the 452 cc single motor not only has more displacement but more age-relevant tech too, like liquid-cooling, 4-valves and ride-by-wire. The resulting 39.5 bhp and 40Nm performance output is quite a thrilling proposition, one that does so well when you want to wander the free earth. In that vein too, the beautiful suspension setup takes everything in its stride, allowing you to remain unfazed over the trickiest of terrain.
