Hyderabad headquartered battery major Amara Raja Energy & Mobility (ARE&M) is gearing up for a bigger global push, starting with a new wholly owned subsidiary in the United States. ARE&M plans to invest up to USD 5 million in the new US arm, spread across equity, loans, other securities and capital expenditure, in one or more stages as needed. The Indian company will subscribe to the shares at face value and will own 100 percent of the subsidiary, ensuring full control over strategy and operations.
At a board meeting held on 11 February 2026, ARE&M approved the plan to set up a subsidiary in the US, tentatively named ARE&M US Inc’. The company expects to complete the incorporation within the next three to six months, indicating that execution timelines are already in focus.

The new entity will operate in the energy and mobility space, with a focus on battery and component distribution and related services. In other words, the idea is to serve customers faster through a local presence, improve delivery efficiency, open doors to new business opportunities, and eventually evaluate whether it makes sense to localise more—possibly through manufacturing or assembly in the US.
For ARE&M, a physical footprint in the US is a strategic step. Being closer to customers can translate into quicker response times, better service, and stronger relationships, while also giving the company an opportunity to be better prepared to tap industry trends, and execute future localisation opportunities in a key global market.
