The new Ampere Magnus Neo is based on the Magnus EX, but differentiates from the latter with a premium appeal and a lot more features.
Ampere has taken the wraps off its latest electric scooter called the Magnus Neo. Based on the Magnus EX variant, but with a more premium appeal, the new Magnus Neo will set you back by ₹79,999. The pricing is same as the Magnus EX. Ampere will showcase the scooter in all its glory at the upcoming Auto Expo 2025, post which nationwide deliveries will commence across all Ampere showrooms from late January 2025 onwards.
Despite the same price tag, the new Ampere Magnus is powered by a slightly bigger 2.3 kWh battery whichis good for 100 km of range on a single charge. The battery takes 5-6 hours to charge fully using a 7.5 A charger, and being a portable unit you can charge it anywhere, anytime at your convenience. With a heavy kerb weight of 150 kg, the Magnus Neo can do 65 kmph of top speed, unlike the Magnus EX which can do just 53 kmph of top speed, despite the same kerb weight.
There are three ride modes on offer, and while Ampere has not mentioned the specifics of it, we reckon it will be Eco, City and a dedicated reverse mode – just like the other Magnus scooters. Other features include a USB charging port, and a fully digital instrument cluster that will support smart connectivity features. But the press release doesn’t mention the specifics of it. However, safety features like Live Tracking, Find My Scooter, Anti-theft alarm and tow alert (optional), will be available as standard.
Ahead of its launch, Ampere used the Magnus Neo to traverse over 2,000 km from Bengaluru to Delhi. Ampere tried to do the same with the Nexus, its most premium family electric scooter offering yet, however, that was done over a longer distance that stretched from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. “Building on the success of the Magnus EX, the Magnus Neo incorporates advanced technology to offer enhanced features for everyday commuters. This new scooter is crafted to meet the changing demands of our customers while championing eco-friendly transportation options that contribute to a greener future,” concluded Kunnakavil Vijaya Kumar, Executive Director & CEO, Greaves Electric Mobility Limited
