Anand Mahindra Offers Chess GrandMaster Praggnanandhaa An XUV400

Chess Prodigy and Indian grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa showcased his skill and prowess at the recently concluded FIDE World Title bout. While R Praggnanandhaa ended up with a silver medal, and the could not defeat World No.1 Magnus Carlsen, he certainly made India proud and a lot of X (formerly Twitter) users urged, Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra, to gift him a Mahindra Thar.

While Anand Mahindra appreciated the sentiment, he had different plans. He said, “Appreciate your sentiment, Krishlay, and many, like you, have been urging me to gift a Thar to @rpragchess. But I have another idea. I would like to encourage parents to introduce their children to chess and support them as they pursue this cerebral game (despite the surge in popularity of video games!) It's an investment in a better future for our planet, just like EVs. And so, I think we should gift an XUV4OO EV to the parents of @rpragchess, Shrimati Nagalakshmi, and Shri Rameshbabu, who deserve our gratitude for nurturing their son's passion and for giving him their untiring support.”

But the story does not end there. Pratap Bose, Design Head, Mahindra and Mahindra wanted to add a personal touch to the XUV400 heading the chess grandmaster’s day. He said, “How about a nice checker pattern for the roof resembling the chess board? What say?"
