Apple's release notes for the iOS 17.2 release candidate, which was released recently, confirm this fix.

The iOS 17.2 update from Apple brings a resolution to a significant issue that iPhone 15 users were encountering with wireless charging, particularly in certain General Motors (GM) vehicles like Chevrolet, Cadillac, and Buick. This problem, which emerged after the iOS 17.1 update, involved iPhones not charging or stopping midway through charging when placed on wireless charging pads in these vehicles.

Apple's release notes for the iOS 17.2 release candidate, which was released recently, confirm this fix. This is the second wireless charging-related fix in recent times, with the earlier iOS 17.1.1 update addressing a separate issue where some iPhone 15 models lost NFC functionality when charged in BMW vehicles.

The upcoming iOS 17.2 release, expected next week, is set to introduce additional features beyond these fixes. It will include a new journal app, a translate action button option for iPhone 15 Pro models, enhanced features in the Messages app, and new clock and weather widgets. Moreover, updates to Apple Music, improvements in AirDrop, better autofill for PDFs, and Qi2 charger support for all iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 models are also anticipated.

Users who are on the public beta of iOS 17 can already use these features.
