Aprilia SXR GT 125 and SXR GT 175 Launched In India: Prices Start At ₹1.10 Lakh

Aprilia India has announced special launch prices for its new premium scooters, the SXR GT 125 hp-e and SXR GT 175 hp-e. The scooters now come with two engine options and as pricing, the Aprilia SXR GT 125 hp-e is priced at ₹1,09,999, while the SXR GT 175 hp-e costs ₹1,29,999 (both prices are ex-showroom, Maharashtra). On the styling front, nothing much has changed and both the Aprilia scooters employ the same maxi-scooter design language as seen on the older Aprilia SXR160. However, the new scooters feature revised graphics and different colour shades. The new Aprilia SXR GT 125 is available in Matte Black, Glossy Azzurro and Glossy White. The Aprilia SXR GT 175 comes in Metallic Blue, Matte Black and Matte Green.

Both scooters use single-cylinder, air-cooled hp-e engines. The SXR GT 175 employs a 175 cc motor developing 13 bhp at 7,200 rpm and 14.14 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The 125 cc engine on the SXR GT 125 is rated at 10.50 bhp at 7,400 rpm and 10.4 Nm at 6,200 rpm.

According to the Italian brand, the engines are tuned for improved power, torque and acceleration, while retaining the versatility needed for everyday riding. The SXR GT engines meet BSVI OBD II Stage B standards and are compatible with E20 fuel.

The SXR GT range gets 14-inch wheels, which give the scooters a more planted stance and are designed to support stable handling and a smoother ride across varied road surfaces. One of the main reasons for the Aprilia SXR125 and the SXR160 to be discontinued from the Indian market was the stiff ride quality and the pricing was very high. With the Indian scooter evolving, the Aprilia SCR GT series have a better chance and it will be interesting to see how the second innings unfolds for these Aprilia scooters.
