Limited to just 10 units, the LM version is derived from the Valkyrie Hypercar but is purpose-built for amateur racing.
Aston Martin has introduced the Valkyrie LM, a track-only homologation special built to celebrate its return to Le Mans—the first such entry since its historic 1959 DBR1 win. Limited to just 10 units, the LM version is derived from the Valkyrie Hypercar but is purpose-built for amateur racing, stripping back hybrid systems in favour of pure V12 performance.
Unlike the standard Valkyrie road car’s hybrid Cosworth-sourced powertrain—capable of over 1,100 bhp with an integrated electric motor—the LM runs a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, detuned to 697 bhp to meet regulations and enhance drivability for less experienced drivers. This output aligns with Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) limits, and the absence of hybrid plumbing means less weight, fewer moving parts, and a simpler setup for track use.
The chassis retains its 7-speed sequential gearbox and pushrod double-wishbone suspension, with adjustable dampers tuned specifically for circuit use. Aston Martin has also revamped the electronics with an open-loop torque control system, jettisoning complex FIA-level closed-loop software. Fuel mapping is recalibrated for consumer-grade fuels—meaning no exotic gasoline required—with no ballast or extra safety adjustments, aiming for a racecar that conforms to hypercar homologation.
Safety and comfort were not neglected: the Valkyrie LM features custom carbon-fibre FIA-rated racing seats, six-point harnesses, and improved cockpit ergonomics for better visibility and rapid entry and exit—emphasising ease of use in club-level endurance driving.
In keeping with its "My First Valkyrie" ethos, Aston offers a full development program to buyers: tailored coaching, simulator sessions, and physical training, plus turnkey support with machinery and safety gear—including helmets, HANS systems, racing overalls, gloves, boots, and even fireproof undergarments.
