In a post on X, Asus shared an image showing off the rear of the upcoming device. The ROG Phone 8 features a large pentagonal camera island housing three lenses and a flash. It marks a change from the rectangular bump on last year's ROG Phone 7 models.
Beyond this new camera design, some key details about the ROG Phone 8 were also revealed. Asus confirmed the phone will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The company also stated the focus will be "beyond gaming," suggesting new features and capabilities that enhance gaming performance.
Previous leaks also pointed to distinct ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro models. Benchmark listings have shown a ROG Phone 8 Ultimate model with 24GB of RAM and 65W fast charging support. No launch date was announced, but the early teaser hints a debut could happen at CES in January 2023.
